Artful Stitches

Artful Stitches is a full-service needlepoint shop located in beautiful Orange County Virginia.  We offer a wide variety of hand painted as well as stitch painted canvases.  We have a wide variety of threads, wools, silks, over dyed, metallics, cotton and more.  Our thread selection is ever growing.  We also offer classes from beginner to intermediate and advanced skill levels.  We do have online shopping but would love to meet you in person if you live close or are traveling through.  We offer sit and stitch nights you can check our calendar on the website for up-to-date information.  If there is anything you would like that is not on the website please call us and we will do our best to get it for you.

Ginger Somerville-Grant

I started doing cross stitch as a teenager and quickly became addicted to stitching.  As life happened, I stopped stitching for a time and when I started again it was needlepoint I picked up.  I love stitching and all the fun and versatile options that needlepoint offers.  I am a member of both ANG and EGA and am trying my hand at new techniques and stitches often.  I love threads, I love the softness of silk, the durability of wool and everything sparkly.  You can never have too much sparkle.  As my stash grew, and I was looking for a career change I decided to open Artful Stitches.  I love interacting with people and what better way than to sit and stitch.  We do lots of that in the store so please stop by and see us.  Happy stitching and I hope to sit and stitch with you soon!
