Not as complicated as it sounds! 

These names are all versions of an interesting technique working simple stitches such as brick or crosses over a foundation of long horizontal or vertical stitches.  You will find examples of these in vintage needlepoint books as well as the popular new books. Create patterns, create motifs, and even stitch great backgrounds!  We will use metallic threads, silks, and cottons to learn about these ancient but infinitely useful techniques.  You will have a new set of stitches to use on a painted design or as a background.
